How old would she be? 11
Favorite Activity? Drama Club / Going to the Mall (especially Limited Express!! LOL!)
Favorite Foods? Mc Donalds! - especially their new Chicken McNuggets w/ sweet and sour sauce
Favorite Colour? Florescent Pink
Favorite TV show? Miami Vice (her Daddy is a cop) and Alf
Favorite Subject? Science
Farorite Music? Duran Duran

What would her clothes look like? Okay, so, like, a pink tee shirt with FORENZA across the front of it, the sleeves rolled up, a floral printed jean jacket (in shades of pink, blue, yellow on a black background)She would have a sky blue knit ruffled miniskirt with black biker shorts underneath it. She would have gold studded, short, black cowboy boots.. or she would have slouch socks with matching floral print keds with friendship pins on them. Her purse would be a textured, yellow vinyl in a rectangular shape with a triangle logo in the lower right corner and a long, skinny leather shoulder strap... reminescent of the Liz bags that became so popular back then. She would also have to have earrings and tons of those black rubbery bracelets.

What would her hair be like? It would be in sprial curls with bangs and it would hang to her behind. She would have the sides pulled up high on top of her head (with a scrunchie the same color of her jacket) and it would be all fluffed up.. oh, and she would be a brunette with teal eyes like Nellies and Kits.

What would her personality be like? She would be the social butterfly of her family.. she would be a cheerleader and in the band with asperations of being an Pediatrician when she gets older. She is an honor roll student and always doing some kind of after school event or helping out her teachers some how. She comes from a large family.. she is the 2nd of 4 kids. Her Mom is a nurse, her Dad is a cop.

Angie - who was a teenager in the 80's.. LOL!

Oh my gosh, am I feeling really old right now! Unless it has come back around into style or trend that Diana knows like Strawberry Shortcake or Care Bears, I don't know what you guys are talking about!

I was ten in 1970! Yup, Vietnam war, forever-lost political leaders, followed by Watergate, my favorite shows were Bewitched and The Brady Bunch! At that time, my older brother controlled my music listening, so think 8-track tapes (for you younsters, out there: look it up!) Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Who, The Association, Chicago, The Beatles and The Stones!

I really didn't care for the 80's personally. I was just coming into my own in the mid 80's, having already unfortunately been married and divorced by '85, the late 80's were a real blurr thanks to 50-60 hour work weeks and night and weekend college!

I think the whole decade was just a loss to me. I turned 30 in 1990 and couldn't be happier for a new decade to begin!

It's funny, even though I lived through them, I'd have to read the book with the doll, just like for all the other historicals!

Laurie, don't feel bad, DH was nine in 1970 and unfortunately I think he is still stuck there Of course at the time he was battling leukemia so I'm not sure how much of the early '70's he does remember. It was funny. Last night I was trying to remember the name of a particular '80's group. I asked DH and all he could bring up were groups from the '70's. For fashions and things we did in the '80's, same thing...'70's. In fact it was in the mid-'90's before his barber was finally able to talk him into changing his feathered hairstyle into something more modern I can sort of understand how you feel about the '80's. I graduated high school in '85 and started college right away. Once I started college, the rest of the '80's seems like a blur.

Oh boy, was I big into that feathered hair too! Think Farrah Fawcette from Charlie's Angels. We saw her on something recently and I told dh how my hair was just like hers, he didn't believe me till I pulled out the pics to prove it!

And no laughing now, but I was never really into the big 80's hairstyles, but did have the curly perms and the big framed glasses, mine were black. I remember around '85 my favorite outfit (and I was a grown up 25 year old) was a satin white shirt with skinny red leather men's tie loosely knotted, over a black leather skirt!

I also hated that look of the baggy sweater over the leggings! Grown women should not wear leggings! What were they thinking? (and mostly they were not thin women, either!) It just was not a flattering outfit on most women.

Oh, yeah. I remember the corduroys in the mid 70s. The bell bottoms, and the plaid pants! And the stack shoes!! Oh my Gosh, I remember my mother had this hideous leather coat that had about 50 million different colored patches on it! But I also remember the neon colors from the 80s. I had every color neon sock with matching shirts.

By the time 1984 rolled around me and my girlfriends were in love with New Edition, and formed our own little group of a girl's version. I remember this song we wrote, and we rode the train to Indiana to have this man put it ot music and he stole our song!! I don't remember ever hearing if it was recorded or anything, but we were pretty broken hearted by it all.

We always imitated some group. We sang, rapped, and had (what we thought) was the greatest dance routines on earth. I rember seeing an episode of "Friends", the one where Ross and Monica were on that dance show, and they were doing that dance routine!!! That was so funny!! It took me all the way back to when I was a teenager.

It is so charming......I was helping some teens host a dance in the high school. Their theme was the 70's. They all looked at me and asked what they should play for music. Like I was from that time warp? I remember saying I graduated in the 90's but to them the 70-90's were all the same. Sheesh!

Thundercats! Yes! My husband thinks that Thundercats was silly. This is also the man who spends his evenings watching Anime.

I didn't do the big hair thing, but I remember it. I also remember the Madonna-Wanna-be's. Were they as young as 9?

I was just such a geek though (still am), that I really don't feel too comfortable designing a "typical" girl of the 80's. In the early 80's, I was painting lead Miniatures of fantasy warriors, dissecting Star Trek, and drooling over Han Solo/Indiana Jones.
